Biotin NHS ester is a basic amine-reactive biotinylation reagent. At neutral or slightly basic pH (7-9), it rapidly attacks solvent accessible lysine-NH2 groups, N-termini and amines and installs the biotinyl function that can be later employed for afinity purification via biotin-streptavidin complex.
