AEBSF HCl Protease Inhibitor effectively inhibits serine proteases irreversibly. It comes in convenient, affordable packages.

Key features include:

  • High-quality reagents in various package sizes
  • Stable at ambient temperature for at least a week
  • When stored at -20°C stable for 2 years
  • Less toxic then PMSF and DFP
  • Enhanced solubility in water
  • Greater stability in aqueous solutions.
  •

AEBSF targets trypsin, chymotrypsin, plasmin, kallikrein, and thrombin, inhibiting enzyme activity via sulfonylation of the active site. Safe for use in cell culture up to 0.25mM, its aqueous solutions remain stable within pH 5-6, with limited stability beyond pH 7.5.

4-(2-Aminoethyl)benzenesulfonyl fluoride hydrochloride (AEBSF HCl) has been used:

  • as a protease inhibitor in plasma samples to prevent acylated ghrelin (AG) degradation
  • as a snake venom serine proteinase (SVSP) inhibitor in SVSP inhibition or AEBSF assay to test the involvement of SVSPs on the fibrinogen-clotting activity
  • as a component in NP-40 lysis buffer to resuspend cell pellets for preparing cell lysates
  •

Recommended concentrations for use are 0.1-1 mM.
